The Department of Microbiology was established in the academic year 2018-2019. The department aims to develop excellence in science and technology by providing quality education and training in microbiology. It focuses on equipping students with strong knowledge, practical skills, and research abilities to meet global standards and compete internationally.

After 3 years of completion of the programme, the Graduates will:
- Work as successful microbiologists in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or food industries and even in IT sectors as medical coders.
- Apply microbiological knowledge to solve practical problems in agriculture, environment, and diagnostics.
- Start their own enterprises by utilizing skills in fermentation and microbial technology.
- Update their skills through continuous learning to adapt to new technology.
Upon the completion of the programme, the students will be able to:
- Safely perform aseptic techniques, microscopy, staining, isolation of pure cultures, and sterilization methods.
- Evaluate the role of microorganisms in environment, agriculture, food safety, and fermentation industries.
- Isolate DNA/RNA and perform molecular diagnostics techniques.
- Implement biosafety measures and ethical practices when handling pathogens, GMOs, and environmental samples.
- Communicate scientific information effectively, work in teams, and apply problem-solving skills in medical or industrial settings.

Our Microbiology Laboratory is a well-equipped, modern facility designed to support high-quality teaching, research, and diagnostic activities in the field of microbiology.
The Undergraduate Microbiology Laboratory is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in practical microbiology through hands-on learning and experimentation. The facility supports the academic curriculum by integrating theoretical knowledge with laboratory skills, enabling students to understand fundamental microbiological techniques in a structured and supervised environment.
The laboratory is spacious, well-ventilated, and organized to ensure smooth workflow and safety. Separate zones are maintained for sterile and non-sterile activities to minimize contamination. Adequate lighting, proper seating arrangements, and uninterrupted power supply, create a comfortable and efficient learning atmosphere for undergraduate students.
Microbiology students have consistently excelled in university examinations, securing top ranks and distinctions.
